Continuing Preparation for the Drive to South America

June 29th

Well its home now - in the street again - saw our neighbor giving us dirty looks when he went for his mail - tomorrow we will put it back in storage. The TV/DVD just needed a new cable, works fine now, the rain gutter is up but the step couldn’t be done. Maybe I’ll embroider a sign that says “Mind the Fall” and hang it above the door.
Right now we are trying to figure out where to put a very necessary item - the coffee pot. Thinking about an under counter one but I think it might take up too much space, give me a claustrophobic feeling if I’m at a sink. So maybe we should just get a regular old electric percolator. Wish I’d saved my Corning Ware one. We’ll have to go to the outlet and see if they have any.
Also I’m making covers for the driver and passenger seats out of big towels. They will just slip over the seats and tie in place. Also covers for the arm rests. The seats are vinyl and a real rough corded fabric that will scratch the heck out of our arms.  And if I can I am going to use the sewing machine to embroider a motorhome and jeep and the words MOVING ON 1 on them for decoration. Don’t know if that will work though. If it does I’ll take a picture.
Yesterday Bill tried hooking Willie to the new tow bar - oh, oh, it didn’t hook. He had to take the bar and have the brackets welded differently. It works fine now. One more thing done.
Bill is on the phone as I type trying to find a system that we will be able to use to go on-line with the laptop when ever we want. No matter where we are. There are only a couple of systems available that work here and all the way to South America but they all have different programs, bandwidths, pre-paid or no pre-paid megabytes, (how many words and pictures are in a megabyte any way?) use with regular phone or special phone, pay in advance or monthly payments - egad all I want to do is go on the internet and keep my web page up and keep in touch with the known world.
Well we went to the outlet stores and didn't find the coffee pot for under the counter so ended up getting a percolator. I think it will work better.

Don’t know if that will work though. It worked - see pictures! I don’t think I mentioned that I made a quilt for the bed. Using the ink jet printer I put a bunch of photographs that I’ve taken on our travels on white photo cotton then I sewed them into a big quilt. It looks pretty good if I do say so myself.
